It was early in the morning at four,
When death knocked upon a bedroom door,

Who is there? The sleeping one cried.
I’m Malkul Mawt, let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver,
As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,


Don’t let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!
Leave me alone; I’m not ready yet.

My family on me depends,
Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,
Friend! I’ll take your life without a pain,

This your soul, Allah requires,
I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry,
O Angel I’m so afraid to die,

I’ll give you gold and be your slave,
Don’t send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,
Open the door; get up from your bed,








If you do not allow me in,
I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his right hand,
Ready to defy the Angel’s stand.

I’ll point my gun, towards your head,
You dare come in; I’ll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room

Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,
Put down your gun and do not sigh.

Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,
To die according to Allah’s plan?

Come smile at me, do not be grim,
Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame,
I had no time to take Allah’s Name.

From morning till dusk, I made my wealth,
Not even caring for my health.

Allah’s command I never obeyed,
Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,
But no time had I to repent.








The Hajj was already FARD on me,
But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,
Taking usury more and more.

Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine,
With flirting women I sat to dine.

O Angel! I appeal to you,
Spare my life for a year or two.

The Laws of Quran I will obey,
I’ll begin SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,
And keep away from self-conceit.

I will refrain from usury,
And give all my wealth to charity,

Wine and wenches I will detest,
Allah’s oneness I will attest.

We Angels do what Allah demands,
We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone,
Father, mother, daughter or son.

I’m afraid this moment is your last,
Now be reminded, of your past,








I do understand your fears,
But it is now too late for tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more,
Never did you, your people adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,
Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,
In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making more Muslims,
You made your children non-Muslims.

You ignored the Mua’dhin Adhaan,
Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,
Backbiting friends, and causin strife.

From hoarded goods, great profits you made,
And your poor workers, you underpaid.

Horses and cards were your leisure,
Moneymaking was your pleasure.

You ate vitamins and grew more fat,
With the very sick, you never sat.

A pint of blood you never gave,
Which could a little baby save?








O Human, you have done enough wrong,
You bought good properties for song.

When the farmers appealed to you,
You did not have mercy, this true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,
Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,
I’ll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,
Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,
And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,
You never know, your end may be near

change your living and make amends
For heaven, on your deeds depends.

None of us have chosen our parents. The Almighty decided through whom we would come into this world, as a blessing and a test for both sides.

Our parents looked after us when we were helpless infants, so why do we find it a burden to look after them when they are aged and in need of care?

Kindness to parents is decreed upon us. Never utter a disrespectful word to them even in disagreement.

Pray for them to attain the Mercy of the Almighty, guidance and goodness for they brought us up praying for our goodness so sincerely.

Obedience of parents is a duty unless they ask us to go against the instruction of the Almighty or to do something unreasonable.. Then too, we must always respect them.

Serving one's parents in old age is as good as opening the doors of Paradise for oneself, so don't miss out.

In old age, sometimes all they want is for us to sit with them and show some interest in their stories of the past, or call them from afar simply asking how they're doing.

May the Almighty forgive our shortcomings and shower our parents with His Mercy.

LEAF PEOPLE

BRANCH PEOPLE
There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life, it's possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it's tough. Although they are stronger than leaves, you have to test them out before you run out there and put all your weight on them. In most cases, they can't handle too much weight. Yet again, you can't be mad at them, it's just who they are.

ROOT PEOPLE
If you can find some people in your life who are like the roots of a tree, then you have found something special. Like the roots of a tree, they are hard to find because they are not trying to be seen. Their only job is to hold you up and help you live a strong and healthy life. If you thrive, they are happy. They stay low key and don't let the world know that they are there. If you go through an awful storm, they will hold you up. Their job is to hold you up, come what may, and to nourish you, feed you and water you.

Just as a tree has many limbs and many leaves, there are few roots. Look at your own life. How many leaves, branches and roots do you have? What are you in other people's lives?

Sometimes you have to walk alone long enough to realize that you were never actually alone.

Sometimes this world comes between us and what we love. But if we are patient, when this world passes away, there will be no more separation, insha Allah. One of the greatest gifts of jennah: The Prophet, pbuh, says, 'You will be with those whom you love.'

Being inquisitive to the extent of asking personal questions, wanting to know details of the private lives of others by going as far as questioning little children to find out such details is stooping to the lowest possible level. 

This sad habit is becoming more common as people lose focus in life & wrongly believe that such behaviour is useful. 

Satan then leads us to be even more inquisitive,

 until we become like spies whose entire lives rotate around what others are doing.

In the process our spirituality is killed, our lives are wasted & instead of benefitting from our time, effort, energies & resources, they are all wasted in the most destructive manner.

The Messenger pbuh says that a sign of a true submitter unto the Almighty is that he or she stays away from anything that does not concern him or her.

Let us clean our act & get rid of the cravings of wanting to know juicy stories of others, true or false.

Not everybody is on the same level of piety & none of us can claim to be holier than the other.

Whilst some are working very hard to improve their clothing & appearance others are working equally hard to improve their faith & character.

Some focus on rectifying visible weaknesses yet others have overtaken them through rectifying hidden weaknesses.

The winners are those who can work hard to i

mprove both simultaneously.

Some improve very quickly initially & lose focus later on whilst others improve slowly & quietly, overtaking those who continue to think they are astray.

Never let Satan make us feel that others are astray unless they move at our pace & start by rectifying what we found easy to rectify in our lives. 

Be careful what you think of others for their link with the Almighty could be much stronger than ours.

Let's pray for each other rather than against each other, and focus on our weaknesses, both hidden & apparent.

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.


Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.

I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every
10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

The day WE fall ill, we will be surprised at the number of people who inquire about us, pray for us and visit us over and above those who take care of us. This is what makes us one big family.

The genuine concern for one another is a vital component of a happy community.

if u've got that one person in your life which takes out time to listen to u just so u can take some burden off your chest ... then do respect that one person (whether its ur mother, father, sister, friend or whoever it might be)

value that person and never let them go .. since they preferred your feelings on their precious time and mood.....

Humour, joking & teasing others has its limits.

Some people have a habit of teasing others whilst they would never accept the same for themselves.

Some like to hurt others, abuse or insult & then quickly claim to have been joking, espec

ially in marriage or in relationships.

If we do not limit & censure our humour, jokes about others or teasing especially towards our loved ones we could create hatred & enmity within our circles & lose our best friends & even family members.

Let us learn to be sensitive of what may be hurtful to others in the least & abstain from it.
