A seedling of hope
A budding dream
A small ray of light
A smile starting to bloom

At a glance
To you
I may seem
All wrong
Urged
By your (self-) righteousness
Might you declare
My faults
As you perceive
And jump onto
A conclusion unjust
But will you not
Look beyond
Your first impression
To discover
What I really am

Do not
Destroy the hope
Shatter the dream
Overshadow the light
Turn the smile upside down

Though it may be
The easiest 
For you to do
Judge me not
In one leap 
I ask of you
