Please, Be Back..
-Sumaiah Ismail
All rights reserved @Allah's presence

It's been hours since they left,
I await, sitting on a floor that is cleft,
I wait not for a garment or toy,
Her embrace gives me joy.
He keeps telling me to aim high,
Her voice is my lullaby,
They should be back by four-thirty,
What keeps them away for 'eternity'.
I run to my grandma hurriedly,
Who answers the phone call worriedly.
'Where is my mama?'
I ask her,
'Where is my papa?'
I enquire her,
Collapsing down completely,
She starts to sob inconsolably,
With a trembling voice that is weak,
Tears roll down her cheek,
She holds my arms so tight,
And says 'Everything's gonna be alright'.
I know not what she means, I glare at the TV screen,
People running here and there,
Black smoke everywhere,
But that's what I see everyday,
What difference does it make today?

And suddenly it hits,
A blow too hard to resist,
I feel it,
I sense it,
My world shatters into pieces.

So that's the reason she mourns,
Oh! I just wanna be alone!
Someone tell me,
This is not happening.
Please, someone tell me,
This is just a dream.
I feel my eyes drenching,
I sense my heart giving in,
No! No no! No no!
It can never ever be so.
I hopefully run to the doorsteps,
Hearing someone's footsteps,
My eyes scan the far horizon,
Searching those familiar faces.

I'm sure they will be back,
I know they will be back,
Oh God! Let them be back!

When you feel all alone in this world
And there’s nobody to count your tears
Just remember, no matter where you are
Allah knows

When you carrying a monster load
And you wonder how far you can go
With every step on that road that you take
Allah knows

No matter what, inside or out
There’s one thing of which there’s no doubt
Allah knows

And whatever lies in the heavens and the earth
Every star in this whole universe
Allah knows

When you find that special someone
Feel your whole life has barely begun
You can walk on the moon, shout it to everyone
Allah knows

When you gaze with love in your eyes
Catch a glimpse of paradise
And you see your child take the first breath of life
Allah knows

When you lose someone close to your heart
See your whole world fall apart
And you try to go on but it seems so hard
Allah knows

You see we all have a path to choose
Through the valleys and hills we go
With the ups and the downs, never fret never frown
Allah knows

Every grain of sand,
In every desert land, He knows.
Every shade of palm,
Every closed hand, He knows.
Every sparkling tear,
On every eyelash, He knows.
Every thought I have,
And every word I share, He knows.
Allah knows.

Baffled
-Sumaiah Ismail

All rights reserved @Allah's presence

Baffled, I am
Pondering upon
The world I see
Around me

When one man
Piles his plate,
And savours
Delicious food

The other
Tortured by hunger,
Nibbles some
Morsels of food.

When one's refrigerator
Gets impregnated,
The rest is thrown away
Into the giant basket

The other
Treasure-hunts
The edible
Looking in dismay
At the heap
Rotten and wasted

More fruits are seen
In one man's shampoo
Way less are seen
On the other man's plate

Inflation rate
Continues to soar
Who cares about it
Any more

All one's concern
Is to fill one's tummy
Which is already sated
With food that is yummy

Baffled,I am
Pondering upon,
The world I see
Around me!

Hopes held in the hollows of words
They crumble leaving only sorrow as a companion.
Hope should be placed in the Hands most Secure,
Saving us from drowning into depths of sorrow.
Ya Salaam,
Ensure that we find the shore safely.

What are we but mere moments,
Forgotten just as quickly as were once cherished..
#Life..

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Let not my actions be a reflection of my broken heart,
But let them be noble,
Like the courage it takes me to stand tall,
Despite the depths of my soul having caved in,
Let not my actions be anything but the best,
For I will stand before You my Lord,
And I wish only Your Mercy that Day.

What does a smile hide,
But life's unspoken fears,
The pains at the hands of others' actions,
And suffering that results from silence,
All that lies behind that up-curve that these lips rather easily wear.
Only those who seek to know,
Will ask beyond the surface.

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

The hands lie empty,
Of what the heart hoped to hold,
So the tears they gently fall,
And heard by only One.

He Sees what others do not,
And Hears that which remains unspoken.
Know that He is with you,
Just remain patient.

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Do the eyes ever become dry from the hearts unspoken sorrows?
This life never promised ease,
Just guarantees of turbulence.
So where do we see the next step falling,
Upon sorrow or ease?
Regardless Our Lord,
Grant our hearts peace.

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

The actions we take,
Either make a soul,
Or break it...

I fear the Day I stand before You,
Knowing that I walked this life
Often heedless,
Often confused,
But desperately seeking Your Guidance.
My hope is Your Mercy,
It's all I have in this prison of life.

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

When a heart breaks,
And then is pieced together,
It never quite feels the same.
Those fragments and scars,
Though held together apparently whole,
It holds tales of pain, and stories of loss
Which only the owner understands.
Each fragment and scar provides a source of strength,
A reason to keep striving;
Though this heart broke,
There lies a reward for each moment spent in patience.

Helpless, not hopeless...
-Kownain Andrabi
All rights reserved @ Allah's presence

Helpless but not hopeless,
Weakened but not broken,
Am I
Wandering without a path,
But not without a goal..

Travelling in the darkness of the night,
In the wilderness of silence,
Am I
Walking under a moonless sky,
But not without the hope of seeing the morning sun..

Stumbling on the mounds of the desert,
Endeavouring to drag my bruised feet,
Am I
Struggling amidst the scorching heat,
But not without the dream of enjoying the lashing rains...

I fear those silent days

-Poem by Sharmeen Syeeda
All rights reserved@ Allah’s presence

I fear those silent days, the evident old age,
When days begin to fade,
When weakness begins its rage
And locks life in a cage
I fear those silent days, the evident old age.

The life which began, is now near its end,
When the bed becomes the friend,
When the speech has lost its end,
And when there is no love to lend,
I fear those silent days, the evident old age.

When the bones are fragile and the tone softens
And when you’re all dependant,
I fear those silent days, the evident old age.

When the memory lessens
When the body bed riddens,
And when smiles are hidden
I fear those silent days, the evident old age.

I know, soon I’ll be close by,
And face the EVIDENT OLD AGE!!

I might not look so wise,
But my vision becomes clear as an ice.

I might not sound very clever,
Though I speak like an overflowing river.

I might not act that good,
For it all depends on my mood.

I might not pretend to be the best,
Still I'm not like the rest.

I might not be perfect for anyone's sake,
Yet I'm far away from being fake.

I might not be awesome,
Totally I'm different, and that is what I am!

I might not be able to please everyone,
For I'm here to please Allah alone!

BUNDLES OF JOY
-Taz Shiraz
All rights reserved@Allah’s presence

Diminutive bundles of joy
Irreplaceable,extraordinary toy
Petite feet, no teeth
Bubbly and innocuously sweet

Flabby, tubby, chubby cheeks
Mischievous, naughty, playful tricks
Silky, glossy, soft skin
Teeny-weeny, teensy darling

A hug, a cuddle, a caress
Sufficient enough to impress
Pure, fresh unblemished face
Enticing you to embrace

Comfort to the craving soul
Command of every core
An apple of every eye
Sweet smile and a clement cry

Not one scratch, no stain
No pressure, not at all pain
Not at all greed, no any game
Not any quest for fame

Don't we all yearn to be
Alike afresh a new born baby
To repose in serenity and calm
Having conquered a charismatic charm.

REKINDLING HUMANITY
Cyber Muslimah
All rights reserved @ Allah's presence

There was a time,
when man was man.
Caring for one another,
kindred and non kin alike.
Others before self,
was the order of the day.

A dying man would say,
thirsty as he is,
“Give the water to my dying brother”,
looking at the scarce resource,
and die.

A poor man would say,
“Come to my place, I’ll give you”,
and give all he has.
The receiver,
unaware of the great deed done.

There really was a time...

Years have passed...
Times have changed...

Now we have a time,
when welfare is ill-defined.
Tongue speaks,
heart does not.
Words pour,
feelings do not.
Self, self and self,
the order of the day.

While a man shouts, “Help Me”,
fallen onto a railway track,
a train whizzing towards him,
the onlooker would move farther,
for the perfect still.
Money in his bag: the aim.

We do have a time...

Years have passed...
Times have changed...

From good to bad to worse...

When will be the time,
Man Is Man Again??

Traveller
-Rainbow of Life
All rights reserved @ Allah's presence

Just a temporary traveler
I know I'm just but a mere traveler in this world..
For Jannah i should have to strive for..
As for problems, trials are but a mere temporary one and it shall pass..
I know too that only ALLAH knows the unseen, uncertain..
The problems, trials, obstacles in life are tests to endure...
Patience, strength, ties between families, relatives, friends being tested...
But at times I felt that I could not not endure any longer..
Feeling that I am holding to the end of the rope..
The feeling of being broken, drained, lost...
It's nice for once to feel and having the support needed,
encouragement given..
To make at least these trials easier..
Just an advice to those who had seen and come across us poor souls who are struggling to go though these an unending obstacles..
You may never the heavy burden which we have to bear..
The frustrations from people who choose not to understand and being misunderstood..
Please don't judge, please don't point fingers, please don't blame, please don't give negative thoughts and comments as such acts are as though you would not throw stones at someone who is drowning...
If you choose not to save or could not save..
Either throw a buoy at the person who is in peril..
Or please just walk by.. as u might not know when the person drowning might be you..
As life is just a mere temporary one.. and all of us are mere travelers, who had to go through all different roads..
Not knowing what's in store for us..
But we still had to go though all these roads regardless..
leading to the permanent ones..

Pebbles
-Hasna Fathima
All Rights Reserved @Allah's Presence

Pebbles are scattered,
Yet not shattered...
Things may seem troubled,
Still would get settled...
Varied in colors,
They never get jealous...
Different in looks are we,
But it's the hearts which He will see...
Number of shapes they've got,
Ego or proudness, they have not...
So many qualities we do posses,
Accepting all is what we should process...
Being trampled and kicked,
They do never get discouraged...
People may try putting you down,
Never feel bad, show them your crown...
No matter what kind of weather,
They do still stay together...
Happy or sad, be united forever,
Parting may cause disasters that you cannot imagine ever...
Whatever they may,
Their Lord they obey...
Always remember the blessings you've been given,
Before the time gets taken...

KEEP CALM AND SAVE YOUR TONGUE
By – S.S Meera

Though small in size
I can crime a lot

Though I am with no bone
I can very well make one moan

Though I am fragile and moist
I can scorch other’s feelings

Though I am with super flexibility
I can secure mere wrath

Though I remain silently enclosed
I can feast my prey like a mountain lion

Though I cannot stop myself from being woolly
I cannot be incarcerated simply !!

But Yes I ain’t bad
When wisely used !!

If only…..
Zaida Ayliff Solomons
All rights reserved@Allah’s presence

I’ve always preferred the company of the elderly. Since I was very little, I remember always being close by to where the elders conversed, seemingly playing with my toys but keeping my ears tuned in to their every word, thinking to myself that one day when I grow up, I am going to need to know these things about life.

This weekend I listened attentively to an uncle who has experienced life for 76 year

s Ma shaa Allah. His wife had departed from this dhunya five months ago. This is what he had to say:

“We would have been married fifty years the month after she passed. If only I had known… that I would be missing her this much, I would’ve washed her feet every day of our fifty years. If only I had known…I would’ve looked passed all the little things that bothered me about her. Was it really necessary to blame her always? I could never understand her methods of raising the children. To me, everything was black and white. There is a line. You step out of the line and I will have to put you back in the line; that was my view. While she sheltered them, I saw it as undermining my authority. No wonder, Allah SWT says: Your mother, your mother, your mother…and then your father. That’s the beauty of a mother, SubhanAllah. She loved the children differently to me.
I never noticed the things that mattered most. My wife was never mad at me for longer than one waqt to the other; Only now I realize what a beautiful quality that was of hers. Every morning I have this surreal feeling that I could swear she had just woken me for the Fajr prayer but when I open my eyes, to my disappointment I know that she is not there. I get up and pray alone. Of all the things I miss about her, I miss praying with her the most.”
My heart ached feeling pierced as the love and pining for his dear wife was evident in those dull eyes. After a moment of silence I found my voice despite the lump in my throat and said:
“Uncle, you must speak to all the married couples who still have their spouses. If they knew, they would do things differently, learning from your experience In shaa Allah. “My child” he said despondently “who would listen to an old man like me? They all think that they know better.”

Tears welled up as I realized that he was right. We repeat the same cycles even though the writing is on the wall.

‘You can only warn him who follows the reminder and fears the Beneficent Allah in secret; so announce to him forgiveness and an honourable reward.’
Surah Yaseen [Shakir 36:11]

| Them and Us |
-Hasna Fathima
All rights reserved@Allah’s presence

We do see them,
Skeleton like figures and desperate faces...

We do hear them,
Begging for food and craving for shelter...

We do smell them,
Ragged clothes and dirt stained skins...

We do taste the disgust when we watch them,
Searching for a piece of bread in a lump of garbage...

But here's a question!
Do we feel them?
Do we feel the pain in them?
Do we feel the desires of them?

Those poor souls...
They've never known what the word 'comfort' means...
They've never tasted a food which we call 'delicious'...
They've never worn a dress what we think is 'fashionable'...

And then here we lie!
Complaining for the lack of comforts...
Shouting after the cook for a single mistake made on our food...
Sulking because we didn't get enough dresses for the festival...

Have we ever considered the things we posses?
Have we ever wondered how it would be to switch places with them?
Have we ever thought about the uncountable blessings we have got?
Have we ever imagined where we would have been if it wasn't for His Mercy?

Indeed, Allah has given all we need,
Though we keep complaining over silly things...
Will we ever get over this?
Will ever a day come when we think about changing us, rather than trying to change only the world?

''Then, which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?''
[Ar-Rahman-55:13]

Smiling face never knows what real smile is
Smiling from my heart trying to forget the sadness
I feel am worrying for others not caring about me
Some times it happens -

My Almighty Allah never forget me ,
He always cares for me
World is nothing ,
do every thing for sake of Allah.
Reminding this to myself.

With Silent smile I look at the nature .
From my heart and lips I say "سبحان الله"
My heart thinks silently
Tears wet my cheek, Reminding me of 'Gaza'
"الحمد لله" , He kept me in a safe place .
I am Worrying for small problems of mine
when i see our ummah in 'Gaza' my problems count nothing

O Allah give the strength
To the people in 'Gaza'
Make their heart strong in Islam
Give them Success in this world & Life after death
Forgive our Mistakes and accept our good Deeds
"سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ"

Tuesday, 30 October 2012

It was early in the morning at four,
When death knocked upon a bedroom door,

Who is there? The sleeping one cried.
I’m Malkul Mawt, let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver,
As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,

Don’t let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!
Leave me alone; I’m not ready yet.

My family on me depends,
Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,
Friend! I’ll take your life without a pain,

This your soul, Allah requires,
I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry,
O Angel I’m so afraid to die,

I’ll give you gold and be your slave,
Don’t send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,
Open the door; get up from your bed,

If you do not allow me in,
I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his right hand,
Ready to defy the Angel’s stand.

I’ll point my gun, towards your head,
You dare come in; I’ll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room

Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,
Put down your gun and do not sigh.

Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,
To die according to Allah’s plan?

Come smile at me, do not be grim,
Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame,
I had no time to take Allah’s Name.

From morning till dusk, I made my wealth,
Not even caring for my health.

Allah’s command I never obeyed,
Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,
But no time had I to repent.

The Hajj was already FARD on me,
But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,
Taking usury more and more.

Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine,
With flirting women I sat to dine.

O Angel! I appeal to you,
Spare my life for a year or two.

The Laws of Quran I will obey,
I’ll begin SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,
And keep away from self-conceit.

I will refrain from usury,
And give all my wealth to charity,

Wine and wenches I will detest,
Allah’s oneness I will attest.

We Angels do what Allah demands,
We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone,
Father, mother, daughter or son.

I’m afraid this moment is your last,
Now be reminded, of your past,

I do understand your fears,
But it is now too late for tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more,
Never did you, your people adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,
Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,
In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making more Muslims,
You made your children non-Muslims.

You ignored the Mua’dhin Adhaan,
Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,
Backbiting friends, and causin strife.

From hoarded goods, great profits you made,
And your poor workers, you underpaid.

Horses and cards were your leisure,
Moneymaking was your pleasure.

You ate vitamins and grew more fat,
With the very sick, you never sat.

A pint of blood you never gave,
Which could a little baby save?

O Human, you have done enough wrong,
You bought good properties for song.

When the farmers appealed to you,
You did not have mercy, this true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,
Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,
I’ll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,
Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,
And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,
You never know, your end may be near

change your living and make amends
For heaven, on your deeds depends.

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to
put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I
couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so
much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so
important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every
10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a
Mom.

Discarded ?
-Zeneefa Zaneer
All rights reserved @Allah’s presence

The day she vows to be a wife

The battle of life begins
The ups and downs in life
Is packed along with her luggage
Packets of tears and a bucket of courage
Is packed along when she leaves her home

Smiles to keep others smile
Comfort to give to whom she bounds
Cuddle the joy and embrace the happiness
Dust away the sorrows and pains
All were taught when she patches along

The tales to hear
The insults to bear
The questions to reply
The thousands of judges
When she simply fails to bear

Nights without sleep
Days being dizzy
Hundreds of instructions to care
And pain alone she bear

Blood she sacrifices
Tears she pays with
A scream and a cry
Makes her day brighten

Runs miles per day
Behind her precious joy
Pesters to feed and give
Them with the best

Sacrifices her beauty
And even her duty
For the others of her loving ones
Who paces from her when they assumed she cared not

The whole world she builds
Around the children she bred
Thinks not for herself
Not for her life as well

The time wheels
The earth rotates
The days pass
And the world changes

Her youth has fled
Her strength has withered
Her voice has gone unheard
So her children has done the same

Here she lies in the hospital bed
Suffering alone to breathe her life
Not a single word she spills to blame her life
Nor the lives she sacrificed for

Oh! Mother…
How can this be your fate?
Why has this been your fate?
Fate of a mother and a father too
How many mothers would be neglected?
How many fathers would be abandoned?
Children of Adam you have your own reasons
Yet did you know she/he could have given thousands of reasons
To get rid of you when you were just a leach in her?

Judge Me Not
- Fathan bint Muhammed
All rights reserved@Allah's presence

I am
A seedling of hope
A budding dream
A small ray of light
A smile starting to bloom

At a glance
To you
I may seem
All wrong
Urged
By your (self-) righteousness
Might you declare
My faults
As you perceive
And jump onto
A conclusion unjust
But will you not
Look beyond
Your first impression
To discover
What I really am

Do not
Destroy the hope
Shatter the dream
Overshadow the light
Turn the smile upside down

Though it may be
The easiest
For you to do
Judge me not
In one leap
I ask of you
