Trying to keep up with the latest fads
From wearing big chains to black do-rags
You don’t really know who you are
All you do is imitate the kufar

Of all people, we are supposed to be the best
Yet you toil and strive to be just like the rest
The dress, the walk, the talk, nothing less
But you will fail this life we call a test
You were born a Muslim, that which there is no doubt
Yet you emulate the people we were taught to flout
Even when you don’t realize, the Shaytan will tempt
And make you love those that for you, have contempt

You feel like you live, but you are the walking dead
Your heart gets blacker, on this path you tread
Governing your actions, is your quaking desire
Your eyes are bright and your heart's on fire

You walk around thinking that everything's fine
Even though you rarely pray,
And when you do, it’s never on time

When u go the masjid, you’re a Muslim brother
You "listen" to the khutbah but the message
Goes in one ear, and out the other

You think your life is generally fine
You remember Allah from time to time
You rarely rarely pick up the Holy Qur'an
But whenever you read it, you think..."oh damn
I will be in big trouble for what I have done
This life is not about amusement and fun
It will be too late before I finally learn
I fear, in Jahannam, I might burn"
These fears make you go and make duaa
You stay after maghrib for 2 extra rakaa
You ask Allah to have mercy on you
And that you will change, that
Walahi, this time it’s true
